LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) -- Bears guard Cody Whitehair is expected to miss time after suffering a right knee injury during a 20-12 loss to the Giants on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
Whitehair exited in the third quarter and didn't return. His injury isn't expected to be season-ending, coach Matt Eberflus said Monday while adding the team is still determining whether injured reserve will be necessary.
"The guy started 99 games and has missed two during that career, so you talk about tough," Eberflus said. "And a guy that really shows Chicago Bear toughness. That's Cody Whitehair."
After Whitehair suffered his injury, the Bears shifted Lucas Patrick to left guard. He had previously been rotating at right guard with Teven Jenkins. Eberflus indicated the offensive line will move forward with that alignment now with Whitehair out.
Bears kicker Cairo Santos returned to the team Monday after departing it last week so he could tend to a personal matter. Chicago then signed veteran kicker Michael Badgley to its practice squad and elevated him to the active roster for its game Sunday. Badgley did his job well, going 4-for-4 on his field-goal attempts to record all the Bears' points in their loss.
The Bears (2-2) visit the Vikings (3-1) on Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium.
