Report: Bears RB David Montgomery to be out 4-5 weeks

Montgomery is dealing with a left knee sprain, ESPN reported.

(670 The Score) Bears running back David Montgomery is expected to miss four to five weeks with a left knee sprain, ESPN reported Tuesday morning.

Montgomery suffered the injury on a five-yard carry in the fourth quarter of a 24-14 win against the Lions on Sunday. He rushed 23 times for 106 yards and two touchdowns before leaving with the injury. Montgomery has rushed for 309 yards and three touchdowns in four games while averaging 4.5 yards per carry this season.

Veteran running back Damien Williams, the backup to Montgomery, suffered a quad injury Sunday. The Bears aren't sure whether he'll be forced to miss time. Rookie Khalil Herbert is the lone healthy running back on Chicago's active roster at this time.

The Bears (2-2) visit the Raiders (3-1) on Sunday in Las Vegas.
