LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) — The Bears on Wednesday weren't awarded any new players in the first cycle of waiver claims.
It wasn't immediately clear if the Bears attempted to make any claims. They were ninth in the waiver claiming order, meaning they could've sought a player who went to a team higher in the order.
The Bears did lose a player in the process. Rookie tight end Brendan Bates, an undrafted free agent who was waived by the Bears on Tuesday, was claimed by the Jets.
The Bears set their initial 53-man roster Tuesday. The team can now begin forming its 16-man practice squad.
