Bears hire Michael Pitre as running backs coach

Pitre joins the Bears after three years at Oregon State.

(670 The Score) The Bears have hired Michael Pitre as their new running backs coach, the team announced Thursday.

Pitre joins the Bears after three years at Oregon State. He replaces Charles London, who left to become the Falcons' quarterbacks coach. London had been the Bears' running backs coach since 2018.

At Oregon State, Pitre coached current Bears running back Artavis Pierce as well as 2020 AP Pac-12 Co-Offensive Player of the Year Jerman Jefferson.

The Bears lost London as well as passing game coordinator Dave Ragone from their offensive coaching staff this offseason. It's unclear if the Bears intend to hire a new passing game coordinator.
