(670 The Score) Bears quarterback Justin Fields on Wednesday was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week after his record-breaking performance in a loss to the Dolphins on Sunday.
Fields set the NFL regular-season single-game record for rushing yards by a quarterback with 178, surpassing Michael Vick's 173 rushing yards during a game in 2002. He came three yards shy of Colin Kaepernick's 181 rushing yards during a playoff game in Jan. 2013.
Fields also set a Bears franchise record for the longest running play by a quarterback with his 61-yard touchdown run in the team's 35-32 loss. He was 17-of-28 for 123 yards and three touchdowns through the air.
This marked Fields' first weekly honor in the NFL, and he became the first Bears player to earn NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors since Mitch Trubisky did so in Week 10 of the 2018 season.
The Bears (3-6) host the Lions (2-6) on Sunday at Soldier Field.
