LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) – As the Bears got to work Wednesday, quarterback Justin Fields was set back by an illness.
Fields won't practice Wednesday afternoon, though the Bears are hopeful that he'll be healthy enough to play when they host the Eagles on Sunday at Soldier Field.
"He's feeling better every single day, and we'll go as we go through the week," Bears coach Matt Eberflus said.
Fields was present with the Bears at Halas Hall on Wednesday and was involved as the team built its game plan for Sunday, Eberflus said.
The 23-year-old Fields has completed 61.7% of his passes for 1,896 yards, 13 touchdowns and 10 interceptions while adding 128 carries for 905 yards and eight rushing scores in 12 games this season.
Nathan Peterman is the Bears' backup quarterback if Fields is unable to play, while Tim Boyle is the third-string option.
The Bears (3-10) and Eagles (12-1) kick off at noon CT on Sunday from Soldier Field.
