(670 The Score) Bears pass rusher Montez Sweat and cornerback Jaylon Johnson were selected to the Pro Bowl, the NFL announced Wednesday evening.
Sweat and Johnson were the Bears' lone honorees, one year after no players from Chicago were selected. Both players were selected to the Pro Bowl for the first time in their careers.
Acquired by the Bears in a trade with the Commanders on Oct. 31, Sweat has 12.5 sacks on the season. He leads both Chicago (6.0) and Washington (6.5) in sacks this season.
Sweat, 27, signed a four-year, $98.5-million contract extension with the Bears in early November.
Johnson has four interceptions this season. He ranks as the top cornerback in the NFL, according to Pro Football Focus.
The 24-year-old Johnson earned Pro Bowl honors in what's the final season of his rookie contract. He's set to become an unrestricted free agent in March.
The Bears' last Pro Bowl selections came in 2021, when pass rusher Robert Quinn and returner Jakeem Grant earned the recognition.
The Pro Bowl Games will take place on Sunday, Feb. 4 in Orlando.
