(670 The Score) The Bears on Tuesday promoted six members of their football operations department, including five from the scouting department.
Jeff King, previously the assistant director of pro scouting, was named the new director of pro scouting. That position was previously held by Champ Kelly, who's currently the assistant director of player personnel. King played seven NFL seasons from 2006-'12 before retiring. He has been with the Bears since 2016.
The Bears also promoted Sam Summerville from Southeast area scout to national scout. Summerville, who has been with the Bears since 2012, was named NFC Scout of the Year in 2019.
Scott Hamel will transition to the role of Southeast scout after previously serving as the Midwest scout. Brendan Rehor will replace Hamel as the Midwest scout after previously working as a Combine scout. Drew Raucina will now serve as the Combine scout.
Additionally, Lamar "Soup" Campbell was promoted to vice president of player engagement. He had been the team's director of player engagement since 2017.
