Bears rule out Khalil Mack, list Eddie Jackson as doubtful to play against Steelers on Monday

(670 The Score) The Bears have ruled out star pass rusher Khalil Mack for their game at the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday night, while safety Eddie Jackson was listed as doubtful to play.

Mack will miss his second straight game due to a foot injury. He had missed two games in his career before this season. Mack has six sacks in seven games. The Bears have a bye next week, setting up a potential return for him after that.

Jackson suffered a hamstring injury on the Bears' second play from scrimmage last Sunday at Soldier Field. He didn't practice this week. DeAndre Houston-Carson is expected to start if Jackson can't play.

The Bears also ruled out running back Damien Williams (knee), quarterback Nick Foles (personal) and tight end J.P. Holtz (concussion). Receiver Darnell Mooney (groin) and linebacker Alec Ogletree (ankle) were listed as questionable to play Monday.

There's "a really good chance" the Bears activate running back David Montgomery (knee) from injured reserve in time for him to play Monday, coach Matt Nagy told reporters at Halas Hall on Saturday.

Kickoff between the Bears (3-5) and Steelers (4-3) comes Monday at 7:15 p.m. CT from Heinz Field in Pittsburgh.
