Bears sign 3 rookies, 1 veteran after weekend tryouts

(670 The Score) The Bears signed four players Monday following tryouts at rookie minicamp over the weekend.

The Bears signed veteran tight end Stephen Carlson as well as three undrafted rookies in defensive lineman D'Anthony Jones, offensive lineman Josh Lugg and defensive back Bralen Trahan. Each player was present on a tryout basis at rookie minicamp on Friday and Saturday at Halas Hall.

The 26-year-old Carlson was one of three veterans on a tryout this past weekend. He has been in the NFL since 2019, playing 25 games over two seasons with the Browns.

Jones was a first-team All-AAC defensive lineman who had eight sacks as a senior at Houston in 2022. Lugg was a six-year player at Notre Dame who started three seasons at guard on the Fighting Irish offensive line. Trahan was also a six-year player in college, recording 13 interceptions during his time at Louisiana.

The Bears waived offensive lineman Nick Amoah, defensive back Justin Broiles and tight end Damien Caffrey in corresponding roster moves.
