Bears sign 5 protected free agents

(670 The Score) The Bears on Monday signed five protected free agents to the roster for 2025.

The Bears signed defensive tackle Chris Williams, who was a restricted free agent. They also signed defensive tackle Jonathan Ford, defensive end Daniel Hardy, guard Bill Murray and cornerback Ameer Speed, who were each exclusive rights free agents.

Williams was acquired by the Bears late last August in a trade with the Browns. He played in all 17 games, recording three sacks. Ford was a seventh-round pick of the Bears who played in the final four games last season. Hardy played all 17 games last season, primarily on special teams. Murray appeared in three games before suffering a season-ending pectoral injury. Speed played in two games last season.

The Bears currently have 70 players on their 90-man roster.
