(104.3 The Score) As it turns out, there will be no uncertainty regarding the Vikings' quarterback situation against the Bears on Sunday.
The Vikings on Friday afternoon named Carson Wentz their starter against the Bears while also ruling out Kyler Murray due to a concussion. J.J. McCarthy will serve as Minnesota's backup quarterback.
Murray suffered a concussion in the Vikings' 39-22 win against the Packers last Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium. Wentz stepped in and threw three touchdown passes as the Vikings overcame a 12-point deficit in the second half.
The Bears had been preparing for both Wentz and Murray, though it seemed unlikely that Murray would play. He was limited throughout the week and unable to clear the concussion protocol in time.
On their end, the Bears have a clean bill of health. Their injury report Friday didn't include any players listed with a game designation for Sunday. Every player on the active roster worked in full Friday.
The Bears (1-0) and Vikings (1-0) will kick off Sunday at noon CT from Soldier Field.
