LAKE FOREST, Ill. (104.3 The Score) —The Bears traded into the sixth round of the NFL Draft to select Georgia Tech defensive tackle Jordan van den Berg at No. 213 overall Saturday afternoon.
Van den Berg earned first-team All-ACC honors last season, when he posted 44 tackles, 11 tackles for a loss and three sacks. He’s a native of Johannesburg, South Africa, and is the first player from his nation to be selected in the NFL Draft.
The Bears dealt their pair of seventh-round picks at No. 239 and No. 241 overall to the Bills in order to acquire the 213th selection that they used on van den Berg. Unless they trade back into the draft, the Bears don't have any more picks remaining this year.
