(670 The Score) The Bears made another aggressive move in the NFL Draft on Friday evening, trading up to acquire the No. 39 overall pick from the Panthers and selecting Oklahoma State offensive tackle Teven Jenkins in the second round.
The Bears dealt picks Nos. 52 (second round), 83 (third round) and 204 (sixth round) while also receiving No. 151 overall (fifth round) back from the Panthers. That selection returning from Carolina is Chicago's next pick in the draft, barring another trade up.
Jenkins, 23, was a three-year starter at Oklahoma State and was an all-Big 12 selection in 2020. He was widely projected as a first-round pick.
"I feel like personally I'm a first-round talent," Jenkins said Friday evening after being selected by the Bears.
"I'm going to be pushing myself to the max because I want to show everybody I was a Day 1 talent."
The Bears traded up nine spots to the No. 11 overall in the first round on Thursday to select Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields.
In Jenkins, the Bears are bringing in a tackle who prides himself on physicality.
"My edge to me is about being able to finish anybody in the dirt," Jenkins said. "I don't care who you are lining up against me, I don't care what you earn against me, I don't care who you are, I'm going to attack you."
