Bears left tackle Braxton Jones takes a step forward in his recovery but hasn't yet cleared the concussion protocol

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (670 The Score) Bears left tackle Braxton Jones took a step forward in his recovery Thursday, though he hasn't yet cleared the concussion protocol.

Jones was listed as a full participant Thursday as the Bears held a walk-through in place of a practice. His status as a full participant was therefore an estimate of a practice. Jones reported concussion symptoms last Sunday and then missed Chicago's 30-12 loss at Minnesota on Monday. It marked the third game that Jones has missed this season.

The Bears turned to rookie tackle Kiran Amegadjie in Jones' place, and he struggled considerably in his first NFL start.

The Bears guard Ryan Bates (concussion), defensive tackle Gervon Dexter (knee), guard Teven Jenkins (calf) and tight end Marcedes Lewis (rest) were held out of work Thursday. Running back Roschon Johnson (concussion) and defensive end Darrell Taylor (shoulder) were listed as full participants.

The Bears (4-10) will host the Lions (12-2) on Sunday at Soldier Field. Kickoff is set for noon CT.
