Caleb Williams limps off after being left in for end of Bears' blowout loss to Cardinals, but he believes he's fine

(670 The Score) In the final minutes of a blowout Sunday, the Bears put rookie quarterback Caleb Williams in harm's way, and it led to him getting banged up.

Williams limped off the field favoring his ankle after taking multiple hits on the final plays of the Bears' 29-9 loss to the Cardinals at State Farm Stadium. Williams will be further evaluated Monday, coach Matt Eberflus told reporters.

Williams feels “OK,” he said, and he walked off under his own power, so it appears he has avoided a serious injury.

Williams didn't have an answer for why he was left in the game.

“It's not my decision," Williams said. "You fight for the game if you're in the game. If not, coach makes a decision like that and you have to deal with it, figure out the next steps. But it's not my decision."

The 22-year-old Williams was sacked six times and took 12 registered hits Sunday. He was 22-of-41 for 217 yards as the Bears managed just 241 total yards of offense.

The Bears (4-4) host the Patriots (2-7) next Sunday at Soldier Field.
