Jaylon Johnson on how the Bears can turn it around: 'We got to have a lot of guys that are thirsty'

(670 The Score) Bears cornerback Jaylon Johnson didn’t mince words when addressing the team’s three-game losing streak, which continued with an ugly 19-3 setback to the lowly Patriots on Sunday at Soldier Field.

“It’s heavy,” Johnson said on the Spiegel & Holmes Show on Monday.

The losing is wearing on Johnson and the Bears as they sit at 4-5 with the most difficult part of their schedule now looming. A team that once had playoff hopes is now simply trying to avoid disaster.

“It’s new reasons, new things to be kind of upset about,” Johnson said. “Honestly at this point, we just got to find a way to figure it out. Because shoot, I know that a lot of guys prepare and compete in the right way. It just hasn’t fallen in our favor really. We were talking on defense, just trying to figure out some things we can do better. Because we got guys that give a damn.”

Asked how the Bears can begin to turn around their spiraling season, Johnson responded “everybody has got to figure out a way to do their job a lot better” and explained the team needs to display a hunger to improve.

"You can take the horse to the well, but you can't make him drink,” Johnson said. “At the end of the day, we got to have a lot of guys that are thirsty. That's definitely an area for improvement — players, coaches, everybody involved.”
