(670 The Score) It's no secret that the Bears need to address their center position this offseason, as Lucas Patrick, Cody Whitehair and Dan Feeney didn't perform consistently at a high level as Chicago went 7-10 this past season.
With that in mind, ESPN analyst Matt Bowen believes the Bears would be wise to pursue center Connor Williams, a six-year NFL veteran who played for the Dolphins for the past two seasons.
Williams, 26, started nine games for Miami in 2023 before he suffered a season-ending ACL tear in December. If Williams' health and recovery looks to be on the right track, Bowen believes he would be a good fit for the Bears when he hits free agency in March.
"He's someone that's excellent in space," Bowen said. "He's more of a positional blocker, but especially when he climbs to the second level, he's very good. So how does a knee (injury) impact him? But again, if you're the Bears, you might get a discount out of him because of that injury.
"When this guy is healthy, he's a pretty good football player."
