Embattled Bears coach Matt Nagy has 'appreciation,' 'understanding' of how he has been treated by fans, covered by media

(670 The Score) As Bears coach Matt Nagy's firing seems inevitable at season's end – if not before – he took a moment to reflect Monday when he was asked if he has been treated fairly in his four-year tenure in Chicago.

"Like I've always said from the day I started here and the rest of my career, this is a profession as a head coach, there's 32 of them in the NFL, and it's never always easy," Nagy said on WBBM Newsradio on Monday morning. "Winning is fun, and that's something that you want to have to be able to do every year. A part of the passion the fans have and what this city is, it's all about that. Our players, our coaches, our organization, everybody wants one common goal. I realize everything happens for a reason. Like I said last night with our team, the one thing about me is I'm always going to have no regrets.
And like I said, I'm always going to empty my cup and give it everything I can and let the results happen as they may. The way I go about things is appreciation and understanding, and I just know this is a very passionate city.
So that's what I have to say about that."

The Bears improved to 5-10 with a come-from-behind 25-24 win against the Seahawks on Sunday, with Nagy's call for a late two-point conversion attempt that was successful being the difference in the game. The victory snapped Chicago's three-game losing streak.

Nagy's comments about how he has been treated and covered came near the end of a season that has been marked by "fire Nagy" chants being yelled at Bears games as well as at other sporting events across the city.

Nagy is 33-30 in the regular season and 0-2 in the playoffs in his tenure in Chicago.
