LAKE FOREST, Ill. (104.3 The Score) — Right tackle Darnell Wright and the Bears have agreed to a lucrative long-term contract extension, sources said Tuesday afternoon.

Wright will sign a four-year contract worth $116 million, sources said. The deal includes $93 million guaranteed, the biggest guarantee for an offensive lineman in NFL history.

The No. 10 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Wright has started 49 games for the Bears over three NFL seasons. He was the first-ever first-round pick for Bears general manager Ryan Poles and has since emerged as a cornerstone for the team. Wright earned second-team All-Pro honors in 2025.

Wright had previously stated his desire to remain with the Bears well beyond his rookie contract.

“Obviously, I want to be here for a long time, hopefully my whole career,” Wright said last week.

Wright’s average annual salary of $29 million is second at his position to only Commanders tackle Laremy Tunsil. Wright will become the highest-paid player on the Bears’ roster.
