(670 The Score) The Bears remain active in their effort to add a veteran pass rusher to the roster, and Bears general manager Ryan Poles indicated Friday that an addition could be looming.
"We'll see, we'll see," Poles said on the Bernstein & Holmes Show. "We're working on it. We don't stop working and looking at different avenues to bring players in. There are some options, potentially trade options. There's also some guys on the street still that could potentially come in and help us.
"Maybe something will happen sooner rather than later."
Veteran pass rushers Yannick Ngakoue and Leonard Floyd are two high-profile options who remain unrestricted free agents. Ngakoue is an eight-year veteran, while Floyd was the No. 9 overall pick to the Bears in the 2016 NFL Draft.
A potential trade option could be Commanders pass rusher Chase Young, who didn't have his fifth-year option picked up in Washington. Young is set to become a free agent in 2024.
The Bears had just 20 sacks in 2022, which ranked last in the NFL. They generated pressure on 15.9% of drop-backs by opposing quarterbacks, which ranked second-to-last in the league. Safety Jaquan Brisker led the Bears with four sacks on the season.
