(670 The Score) After four disappointing seasons with the Bears, quarterback Mitchell Trubisky is officially set to become a free agent when the new league year opens Wednesday afternoon.
So where might he land? On the Bernstein & Rahimi Show, Adam Hoge of NBC Sports Chicago shared a few potential destinations that would be logical fits for Trubisky in free agency.
"The reason why this is mutual is because you got to look at it from Trubisky's perspective too," Hoge said. "Why would he want to come back into this offense that really hasn't been good for him, that has been complicated for him? I would gladly accept – because I don't necessarily think he's going to get a starting job – but a backup role in maybe Cleveland behind Baker Mayfield and get in Kevin Stefanski's offense with a lot of play-action, things that fit him really well. The same thing in Minnesota – go back up Kirk Cousins if they're interested. And I don't know if those teams are interested in him, but I just think those are logical spots for him. San Francisco would make sense. I would even say New England, because they're just kind of, I don't know, that Cam Newton thing – yeah, they're sort of of bringing him back, but maybe they're looking for something else. Maybe that's a spot where (Trubisky) can compete for a starting job. So those are some teams I've targeted and if I'm Mitch Trubisky, I'd be open to."
