(The Score) The Bulls acquired guard Jaden Ivey and veteran point guard Mike Conley Jr. in a three-team trade with the Pistons and Timberwolves on Tuesday afternoon, Shams Charania of ESPN reported.
In the deal, the Bulls will send wing Kevin Huerter and recently acquired big man Dario Saric to the Pistons, ESPN reported. The Pistons also landed a 2026 first-round protected swap from the Wolves.
For the Bulls, the most intriguing aspect is the acquisition of the 23-year-old Ivey, the No. 5 overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft who has failed to carve out a key role for the Pistons. Ivey is averaging 8.2 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 16.8 minutes across 33 games this season. He’s shooting 45.0% overall and 37.2% on 3-pointers.
Ivey missed much of the 2024-’25 season with a leg injury and missed the start of this regular season after having surgery on his right knee. He has averaged 14.9 points in 214 career games across four NBA seasons.
Ivey is set to be a restricted free agent this summer.
Conley, 38, is a 19-year NBA veteran was averaging 4.4 points and 2.9 assists in 18.5 minutes in 44 games for Minnesota this season, mostly in a reserve role.
Huerter averaged 10.9 points in 23.2 minutes across 44 games, including 11 starts, for the Bulls this season. He’s in the final year of his contract.
The Bulls acquired Saric from the Kings over the weekend as they were a facilitator in a three-team trade with Sacramento and Cleveland. Chicago received a pair of second-round picks for taking on Saric’s contract.
