(670 The Score) The Bulls have addressed their point guard position.

Shortly after free agency opened Friday evening, guard Jevon Carter reached a three-year, $20-million deal with the Bulls, according to multiple reports. Whether he starts or comes off the bench for the Bulls, Carter will provide much-needed 3-point shooting and defensive tenacity for a team in need of it as Lonzo Ball is set to miss the entire 2023-'24 season with a serious knee injury.

A Proviso East product who attended West Virginia and who was a second-round pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Carter played for the Bucks last season, when he averaged 8.0 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 22.3 minutes across 81 games, 39 of which he started. Carter shot 42.1% on 3-pointers last season and has shot 39.7% from behind the arc in his NBA career.

The Bulls will use a solid portion of their $12.4-million mid-level exception to add Carter. Chicago is a projected $9 million below the luxury tax threshold after the addition of Carter, Bobby Marks of ESPN reported.

News of Carter's signing broke shortly after news surfaced that the Bulls had retained guard Coby White on a three-year deal worth up to $40 million.
