Bulls Casting A Wide Net In Coaching Search

The Bulls have had talks with more than a half-dozen assistants across the NBA, ESPN reported.

(670 The Score) Executive vice president Arturas Karnisovas and the Bulls are casting a wide net in their coaching search, which includes the organization eyeing more than a half-dozen assistants from other teams.

Bucks assistant Darvin Ham, Nuggets assistant Wes Unseld Jr. and Heat assistant Dan Craig have had discussions with the Bulls, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reported Monday night. All three work for teams that are still alive in the playoffs.


Beyond them, Mavericks assistant Stephen Silas, Mavericks assistant Jamahl Mosley, 76ers assistant Ime Udoka and Timberwolves associate head coach David Vanterpool have also been granted permission to interview with the Bulls, ESPN reported. They all work for teams that have been eliminated from the playoffs or didn't advance to the NBA's restart.

Former Nets coach Kenny Atkinson remains in the mix as well, ESPN reported, and the Bulls are also interviewing two of their own assistants in Chris Fleming and Roy Rogers, who remain under contract with the team.

The Bulls fired coach Jim Boylen on Aug. 14 after he led them to a 39-84 record across two seasons.
