(670 The Score) Bulls star DeMar DeRozan did it again.
DeRozan hit a game-winning 3-pointer from the left corner at the horn to lift the Bulls to a 120-119 road win against the Wizards on Saturday evening. His heroics came a day after he'd authored the same sort of ending, as he hit a running one-legged 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Chicago a 108-106 win against Indiana on Friday afternoon.
With his dramatic performances, DeRozan became the first player in NBA history to hit game-winning shots at the buzzer on back-to-back days, according to Basketball Reference. Celtics legend Larry Bird accomplished a similar feat in 1985, but his heroics came with an off day in between his two game-winning shots, according to Basketball Reference.
"It's just an honor to be trusted in the fourth quarter," DeRozan said. "Whether it's things that are going good, going bad, my teammates always lean me to be that calm presence to kind of bring us home. I always bring that calm presence as much as I can in the fourth quarter and let guys understand as long as we've got time, we've got a chance.
"I don't know if I'm dreaming, if it's real right now."
DeRozan had 28 points as the Bulls improved to 24-10, which is the best record in the Eastern Conference. The Bulls are riding a seven-game winning streak as well as they prepare to host the Magic on Monday evening.
"Thank God we got DeMar DeRozan on our team," said Bulls guard Zach LaVine, who led all scorers with 35 points.
The Wizards were left stunned by DeRozan, whose 3-pointer followed Washington forward Kyle Kuzma's go-ahead 3-pointer with 3.3 seconds left.
"DeMar told me to hold my beer," Kuzma said, according to the Washington Post.
