(670 The Score) Bulls guard Lonzo Ball (knee) has been officially ruled out for the remainder of the season, the team announced Wednesday morning.
Ball underwent surgery on his left knee on Jan. 28 but has continued to deal with pain when he has ramped up his work in the rehab process. He hasn't played since Jan. 14. Ball will continue treatment in preparation of next season, the team said.
The 24-year-old Ball played in 35 games this season, averaging 13 points and 5.1 assists per game. The Bulls have turned to veteran Alex Caruso and rookie Ayo Dosunmu in place of Ball.
The Bulls (45-34) lost 127-106 to the Bucks on Tuesday night at the United Center. They still clinched a playoff berth by virtue of the Cavaliers' loss to the Magic. Chicago has secured at least the No. 6 seed in the Eastern Conference and could still move up to No. 5 as three games remain.
The Bulls host the Celtics on Wednesday night at the United Center. They finish the regular season by hosting the Hornets on Friday and traveling to Minnesota to take on the Timberwolves on Sunday night.
