(The Score) The Bulls continued their roster overhaul Thursday by trading guard Ayo Dosunmu and wing Julian Phillips to the Wolves, Shams Charania of ESPN reported.
In return, the Bulls will receive guard Rob Dillingham, forward Leonard Miller and four second-round picks, Jamal Collier of ESPN reported.
Dosunmu, 26, was one of the Bulls’ best players and a great success story, establishing himself as a good player on both ends of the court after being a second-round pick in the 2021 NBA Draft. He’s having the best season of his five-year NBA career, averaging 15.0 points while shooting 51.4% overall and 45.1% on 3-pointers. Dosunmu is set to hit unrestricted free agency this summer.
Phillips, 22, was a second-round pick of the Bulls in the 2023 NBA Draft. He had a limited role for Chicago this season, averaging 2.8 points and 1.3 rebounds in 9.5 minutes per game.
Dillingham, 21, was the No. 8 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. He had a limited role for a Timberwolves team that’s trying to compete for a championship, averaging 3.5 points in 9.3 minutes in 35 games. The 6-foot-2 Dillingham was heralded for his offensive talents coming out of college but hasn’t established himself in the NBA yet.
The 6-foot-10 Miller was averaging 2.3 points and 1.3 rebounds for Minnesota in limited action. He was a second-round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft.
This deal marked the Bulls’ sixth trade in the past six days.
