No, we're talking about the 2021 playoffs of Spain's top basketball league, Liga ACB (also known as the Endesa League), which saw Mirotic and Gasol come out as champions by leading Barcelona over Real Madrid in a two-game sweep.
The two former Bulls put together strong showings in both games of the Final, with Mirotic taking home the MVP award for the series. After scoring nine points and ripping down seven boards in the first game, Mirotic poured in 27 points to help secure a commanding 92-73 victory in Game 2. The 30-year-old Mirotic averaged 14.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game during the 2020-'21 season, leading the team in both categories.
A six-time NBA All-Star, Gasol wasn't too far behind, even at 40 years old. He averaged 9.1 points and 4.1 rebounds per game during the regular season and stepped up in both games of the Final. He recorded eight points to go along with eight rebounds in the first before going for 11 and six in the second.
