(670 The Score) Bulls guard Zach LaVine will miss Chicago's game at Oklahoma City on Wednesday evening due to right foot soreness, according to multiple reports.
The development was a surprise given that LaVine had been listed as probable to play on the official injury report earlier in the day. LaVine's injury also comes amid a trying time for the player and the team, as he has essentially issued a soft trade request and the Bulls have struggled in starting 5-10.
As trade rumors have swirled, LaVine has been under increased scrutiny. He has also lacked aggressiveness recently, as he had a combined 19 field-goal attempts in the past two games. It marked the first time in his seven seasons with the Bulls that LaVine had attempted 10 or fewer shots in back-to-back games.
LaVine suffered a mid-foot sprain in the Bulls' win against the Heat on Saturday, the Tribune reported.
"I don't like sitting out basketball," LaVine told the Tribune. "I've missed enough games in my career. I try to play through everything. I could care less if it's looked at or not. It's more the fact that I don't like missing games. That hurts more than anything."
LaVine is off to a slow start this season, averaging 21.3 points while shooting 43.1% overall and 33.9% on 3-pointers.
