(670 The Score) The Cubs on Tuesday acquired minor league infielder/outfielder Miles Mastrobuoni from the Rays in exchange for minor league right-hander Alfredo Zarraga, the club announced.

Mastrobuoni, 27, hit .300 with 16 homers, 64 RBIs, 23 steals and a .377 on-base percentage in 129 games for the Triple-A Durham Bulls in 2022. He was called up by the Rays late in the season, going 3-of-16 (.188) in limited playing time across eight games.

Tampa Bay selected Mastrobuoni in the 14th round of the 2016 MLB amateur draft. He's a career .286 hitter across six minor league seasons.

Zarraga had a 1.93 ERA in 17 relief appearances split between low-A Myrtle Beach and high-A South Bend in 2022. The Cubs signed him as a non-drafted free agent in January 2021.

In other moves Tuesday, the Cubs added outfielder Kevin Alcantara, right-hander Ben Brown, outfielder Brennen Davis and right-hander Ryan Jensen to their 40-man roster, which will protect them in the Rule 5 Draft in December.

The Cubs' 40-man roster now sits at 38 players.
