(670 The Score) The Cubs have placed outfielder Jason Heyward on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain, they announced Thursday.
Heyward exited the Cubs' loss to the Nationals on Wednesday with the injury, which isn't expected to be serious, manager David Ross said. Heyward, 31, has struggled this season, hitting .183 with four homers, 13 RBIs and a .595 OPS in 39 games.
In a corresponding move, Chicago recalled outfielder Nick Martini from Triple-A Iowa. Martini is 1-for-5 t the plate while appearing in five games for the Cubs this season.
