(670 The Score) Cubs right-hander Yu Darvish finished second in the National League Cy Young voting, the Baseball Writers' Association of America announced Wednesday evening.
Reds right-hander Trevor Bauer won the award by earning 27 of the 30 first-place votes to finish with 201 points. He was 5-4 with a 1.73 ERA and 0.80 WHIP in 11 starts. Darvish garnered the other three first-place votes, 24 second-place votes and two third-place votes for 123 points. Mets right-hander Jacob deGrom finished third with 89 points.
Darvish, 34, was 8-3 with a 2.01 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 12 starts in the pandemic-shortened campaign. He struck out 93 batters and walked just 14 in 76 innings. It was the second time in Darvish's career that he had a top-three finish in the Cy Young race, as he was second in the American League while playing for the Rangers back in 2013.
