(670 The Score) The Cubs on Wednesday honored a pair of players in their farm system for their work in June.
Single-A Myrtle Beach outfielder Ezequiel Pagan was named the team's minor league player of the month for June, while Single-A South Bend right-hander Daniel Palencia was named the Cubs' minor league pitcher of the month.
Pagan, who will turn 22 on Friday, hit .367 with three home runs and 27 RBIs in June for Myrtle Beach. He raised his average from .233 to .292 thanks to his performance in that stretch.
The Cubs select Pagan in the 13th round of the 2018 MLB amateur draft.
Palencia, 22, was 1-2 with a 3.63 ERA over five starts in June for South Bend. The Cubs acquired Palencia last July in a trade that sent left-hander Andrew Chafin to the Athletics.
