Game 2 of Cubs-Marlins postponed until Friday due to rain in forecast

(670 The Score) Game 2 between the Cubs and Marlins in their wild-card round series Thursday afternoon was postponed due to rain being in the forecast.

The game will be held Friday, with first pitch set for 1:08 p.m. CT at Wrigley Field if there's at least one other National League series still going on. If the Cubs-Marlins series is the only one still alive, then first pitch will be at 6:08 p.m. Game 3 will be held Saturday, if necessary.


Chicago is facing elimination after Miami won 5-1 in Game 1 of the best-of-three series. Cubs ace Yu Darvish (8-3, 2.01 ERA) was scheduled to start against Sixto Sanchez (3-2, 3.46 ERA) in Game 2.

MLB experienced a rain fiasco in the Yankees' win against the Indians in Game 2 of their wild-card round series Wednesday evening. The game was delayed before it started due to rain being in the forecast, but then it was clear at the originally scheduled first pitch. Once action started, rain then arrived in the bottom of the first, forcing a delay. Two rain delays in the game totaled more than an hour.
