(670 The Score) White Sox slugger Eloy Jimenez is set to return.
Out for the entire regular season after tearing his pectoral late in spring training, Jimenez is expected to join the club in Kansas City on Monday and then be in the lineup when the White Sox face the Royals in the evening, manager Tony La Russa told reporters Sunday afternoon. La Russa wasn't yet sure if Jimenez would play left field – a position he has struggled at – or serve as the team's designated hitter. La Russa did add that Jimenez wouldn't take at-bats away from the hot-hitting Andrew Vaughn, James Fegan of the Athletic reported.
Jimenez hit .296 with 14 homers, 41 RBIs and an .891 OPS in 55 games in the shortened 2020 season. In his two MLB seasons, he has hit .276 with 45 home runs and 120 RBIS over 730 plate appearances in 177 games. Entering Sunday, Jimenez was hitting .289 with two homers, four RBIs and a .793 OPS in 12 games in the minor leagues during his rehab stint.

Jimenez hurt himself in late March when he tried to rob a home run in a spring training game and hit the wall awkwardly.
