Watch: Eloy Jimenez makes incredible leaping catch at wall

(AUDACY) There's never a dull moment with Eloy Jimenez out in left field for the White Sox.

The defensive adventures continued for Jimenez on Tuesday night, except this time it ended with possibly the best catch of his career. The 24-year-old Jimenez ended the third inning of the White Sox's game against the Los Angeles Angels by taking what was perhaps going to be a home run away from second baseman David Fletcher.

Fletcher hit a high drive to left as Jimenez started running back toward the wall. As he reached the warning track, Jimenez slowed down before leaping toward the wall and snagged the ball before it could clear the fence.

Jimenez immediately fell to the ground on his back and stayed there for a moment, but he was just enjoying the moment as he flashed a peace sign and popped right back up.

White Sox fans were certainly holding their breath as Jimenez lept toward the wall and lay on the warning track.

Not only has he caught criticism for his previous defensive shortcomings in left field, but he missed the first half of the season with a ruptured left pectoral tendon after trying to make a leaping grab on a ball at the fence late in spring training.

Naturally, Jimenez was just having some fun this time at the fans' expense and his teammates didn't seem to worry as the White Sox bullpen erupted in cheers behind the fence as Jimenez made the web gem.
