(670 The Score) As the White Sox are currently looking to revamp their front office leadership after firing executive vice president Ken Williams and general manager Rick Hahn on Tuesday, there's another monumental, longer-term question looming for the organization to answer.
Where will they play at?
The White Sox have six years left on their lease at Guaranteed Rate Field, but they're considering options to leave the ballpark on the South Side, Crain's Chicago Business writer Greg Hinz reported Monday evening. While no decision is imminent, the White Sox are pondering a new location in the city or surrounding suburbs, Hinz reported – and also could take the more drastic step of exploring a move to Nashville.
So what does Hinz expect to happen?
"All I know is the organization is not working now, it's not succeeding," Hinz said on the Mully & Haugh Show on Thursday morning. "Whether that has to do with the home, whether that has to do with the owner – I'm sure a lot of White Sox fans would stand on their cars and cheer if Jerry ended up selling the team because they don't like him, they don't like his policies. I don't know exactly (what will happen). What I do know is, I think there's adequate reason to think that almost anything is on the table – from selling the team, moving the team, moving into the suburbs, where I know they've been looking around a little bit. The Nashville rumor is always around. It all depends on what this guy wants to do, and the only person who can really answer your question is Jerry Reinsdorf, and he ain't talking, at least not yet."
While there's much to be determined for the White Sox, Hinz does expect change in some fashion.
"What we know is there's just going to be change," he said. "And from a fan perspective, it's, 'Great, change, what you're doing now ain't working.'"
