(670 The Score) The White Sox squandered a 4-0 lead against the Dodgers on Thursday night in Los Angeles, falling 5-4 in 11 innings to drop the series.
It was an opportunity for the struggling White Sox to pick up some steam and climb back toward contention, as the Mully & Haugh Show discussed on Friday morning.
"You're in competition with a really good team," Mike Mulligan said. "The Dodgers are not a bad team. You have an opportunity to win that series. That would be a big kind of moment for the White Sox in their less-than-stellar season. And instead you end up losing in the 11th inning. It's just a pity. I mean, it's just a pity that there was this missed opportunity. Because you had a chance to win a series on the road against a good team and you didn't get it done.
"We're looking for clarity on who they are and what this season is, and they just can't seem to get over the hump."
The White Sox fell to 30-40 and are 5.5 games back of first place in the AL Central. They open a three-game series at the Seattle Mariners on Friday evening.
