(670 The Score) SoxFest is back.
The White Sox announced Friday that their fan gathering will return in 2025 after a four-year absence. The event will be held Jan. 24-25, 2025, with the location and further details set to be revealed at a later date.
The next SoxFest will coincide with the 20-year anniversary of the 2005 White Sox championship team as well as the 125th anniversary of the organization.
"SoxFest 2025 returns with the same community-building spirit, featuring new and reimagined programming and experiences to immerse guests into the world of White Sox baseball," the team said in a news release.
The last time SoxFest was held was 2020. It was cancelled in 2021 due to COVID-19, then it didn't return in the next three years either for reasons that the organization never directly addressed.
The White Sox are coming off a 61-101 campaign in 2023 and have a rebuilding season ahead of them in 2024.
