White Sox avoid arbitration with 7 players, officially name Jin Wong as a new assistant general manager

(670 The Score) The White Sox have avoided arbitration with all of their players after reaching deals with seven of them, they announced Thursday.

The team agreed to one-year contracts with right-hander Dylan Cease ($8.0 million), infielder Nicky Lopez ($4.3 million), first baseman Andrew Vaughn ($3.25 million), right-hander Michael Kopech ($3.0 million), right-hander Michael Soroka ($3.0 million), right-hander Touki Toussaint ($1.3 million) and left-hander Garrett Crochet ($800,000).


In other news, the White Sox officially named longtime baseball executive Jin Wong as a new assistant general manager. Wong worked in the Royals' organization for the past 24 seasons, including the last two as an assistant general manager.

For the White Sox, Wong will oversee contract negotiations, salary arbitration, budgeting and payroll management and compliance with MLB rules, the team said in a news release.
