(670 The Score) The White Sox lost a pair of their talented youngsters to injury early on in the deciding Game 3 of their wild-card series against the Athletics on Thursday.
Left-hander Garrett Crochet abruptly left in the bottom of the second inning with what the team later called left forearm tightness. Compared to past outings, Crochet's fastball velocity had dipped a bit Thursday.
In the top of the third inning, designated hitter Eloy Jimenez exited after doubling to left-center field. He missed the first two games of the series with a foot sprain and aggravated it while running the bases.
The White Sox led 3-0 in the top of the third.
