White Sox place Carlos Rodon on 10-day injured list with left shoulder fatigue

Ace Lance Lynn is being pushed back a day and will start the "Field of Dreams" game Thursday.

(670 The Score) The White Sox have placed left-hander Carlos Rodon on the 10-day injured list with left shoulder fatigue, they announced Wednesday.

Rodon had been slated to start for the White Sox against the Yankees in the "Field of Dreams" game in Dyersville, Iowa on Thursday. In his place, ace Lance Lynn is being pushed back a day and will start. Right-hander Reynaldo Lopez will take Lynn's spot in the rotation Wednesday and start the series finale at the Minnesota Twins.

Rodon is having a spectacular season, going 9-5 with a 2.38 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 19 starts. He hasn't gone quite as deep into games lately, registering just 13 innings across his last three starts and not topping the 89-pitch mark in any of them.

Foster has a 5.64 ERA in 28 appearances for the White Sox this season. Grandal hasn't played since July 5 due to a knee injury.

In other news, manager Tony La Russa will miss the "Field of Dreams" game Thursday to attend the funeral services of his sister's husband in Florida, he said. Bench coach Miguel Cairo will manage the White Sox on Thursday.
