(670 The Score) The White Sox placed third baseman Yoan Moncada on the injured list amid a series of roster moves Thursday as they set their Opening Day roster. The White Sox visit the Detroit Tigers on Friday afternoon for their season opener.
Moncada has a right oblique strain and is expected to be out about three weeks, general manager Rick Hahn told reporters. Chicago also placed right-hander Ryan Burr (right shoulder strain), right-hander Joe Kelly (right biceps nerve injury), right-hander Lance Lynn (right knee surgery), left-hander Garrett Crochet (left elbow surgery) and outfielder Yermin Mercedes (left hamate fracture) on the 10-day injured list.
In other roster moves, the White Sox recalled infielder Jake Burger and right-hander Matt Foster from Triple-A Charlotte, selected the contracts of left-hander Tanner Banks and right-hander Kyle Crick from Charlotte, designated outfielder Micker Adolfo for assignment and outrighted catcher Seby Zavala to Charlotte.
