(670 The Score) The White Sox have signed veteran outfielder Brett Phillips to a minor league deal, according to multiple reports Thursday morning.

Phillips, 29, is a seven-year MLB veteran who has hit .187 with a .619 OPS in his career. He's coming off a poor 2023 season, when he hit .175 with a .601 OPS in 39 games for the Angels. Phillips struggled to make contact, as he struck out 36 times in his 71 plate appearances. He carries a reputation as a strong defensive player.

Phillips is familiar with White Sox manager Pedro Grifol, as they were both in Kansas City in 2018 and 2019.
