Reports: Tim Anderson expected to be out at least a few days as White Sox await MRI results

Anderson suffered a left hamstring injury Sunday.

(670 The Score) White Sox star shortstop Tim Anderson is expected to be out at least a few days – and possibly more – after suffering a left hamstring injury in a game Sunday night.

Anderson isn't in the White Sox's lineup when they visit the Mariners on Monday night, and the team is awaiting the results of his MRI, James Fegan of the Athletic and other outlets reported. Anderson left in the first inning Sunday after appearing to hurt himself while running out a groundball after leading off the game.

The White Sox would be happy to get Anderson back for their home opener against the Royals on Thursday, manager Tony La Russa said, an indication that he'll miss at least the next three games.

Anderson is 3-of-15 with a homer in four games this season. He hit .322 with an .886 OPS in 2020. He won the American League batting title in 2019.
