Tim Anderson responds to Ozzie Guillen saying he needs to play more often: 'Stfu'

(670 The Score) The drama surrounding the White Sox's lineups ascended to a new level Tuesday night.

After shortstop Tim Anderson sat out in the White Sox's 2-1 loss to the Royals in the nightcap of a doubleheader, NBC Sports Chicago analyst Ozzie Guillen expressed his belief on the postgame show that Anderson needs to play more often.

"TA is what, 27 years old?" Guillen said of Anderson, who's 28 years old. "Built like a rock. And we hear (analyst and former big leaguer) Gordon Beckham say it, when you're a kid, go play. When you're a veteran, sit down."

It was then pointed out that infielder Josh Harrison and outfielder AJ Pollock, who are both 34, started both games of the doubleheader. Anderson went 0-for-4 in the White Sox's 3-0 win in the opener of the doubleheader Tuesday.

"We're babysitting players so much," Guillen said. "I understand with Jose (Abreu), yes. But with TA? I don't want to say TA has to be Ozzie Guillen, because Ozzie Guillen wishes he was TA. But when you're young like that, play the game. You got to play every day."

Anderson later chimed in on Twitter with a response to Guillen.

"Ozzie need to stfu sometimes … talk too much!" Anderson tweeted.

Anderson is hitting .328 with an .847 OPS this season. He has played in 31 of the White Sox's 36 games this season. Chicago is 18-18.
