Reports: White Sox to promote infielder Brooks Baldwin from Triple-A
(670 The Score) The lowly White Sox's roster tweaking continued Thursday.
The team is set to promote infielder Brooks Baldwin from Triple-A Charlotte, according to the Sun-Times and multiple reports. Baldwin will join the White Sox as they get going out of the All-Star break with a three-game series against the Royals in Kansas City this weekend.
Baldwin, 23, hit .345 with two homers, three doubles and a 1.096 OPS in his brief eight-game stint with Charlotte recently after being promoted to Triple-A on July 4. Prior to that, Baldwin hit .322 with six homers, 37 RBIs and an .826 OPS in 74 games at Double-A Birmingham this season.
The White Sox selected Baldwin in the 12th round of the 2022 MLB Draft.
Baldwin's promotion comes amid a flurry of roster moves recently, as the White Sox also signed infielder Nick Senzel, optioned infielder Lenyn Sosa to Triple-A, designated infielder Danny Mendick for assignment and designated catcher Martin Maldonado for assignment.
The White Sox are an MLB-worst 27-71 at the All-Star break and are 32.5 games behind the AL Central-leading Guardians.
