(670 The Score) Fans are expected to be allowed back inside the United Center for Bulls and Blackhawks games by the end of their respective seasons, Block Club Chicago reported Tuesday.
Fans haven't been allowed to attend games since the COVID-19 pandemic started in March 2020, but Chicago mayor Lori Lightfoot indicated that's likely to change soon.
"We're talking to both the Bulls and the Blackhawks," Lightfoot said, according to Block Club Chicago. "I think they've got very solid plans.
"We feel like we might be plateauing (in COVID-19 cases) and even, dare to dream, going down. Going down is the right time to have that conversation. So we'll continue with that. I expect before season's end there will be fans in the United Center."
The Bulls have seven home games remaining. Their regular-season finale is set for May 16 at the United Center. The Blackhawks also have seven home games remaining, with their regular-season finale set for May 10 at the United Center. Both teams are fighting for back-end playoff spots, so they could conceivably have postseason games on the docket at the United Center too.
