Kyle Schwarber goes deep again, tying MLB home run mark for a 10-game span

(AUDACY) Nobody is hotter at the plate than Nationals outfielder Kyle Schwarber.

In fact, few people in MLB history have every been as hot as he is right now.

On Tuesday, Schwarber sent the first pitch he saw deep into the right-field seats, giving him 12 home runs in his last 10 games. That made him just the second player in MLB history to accomplish such a feat, tying him with Albert Belle, who hit 12 homers in 10 games in 1995.

It also marked Schwarber's 16th home run in 18 games, tying a feat that Barry Bonds and Sammy Sosa had previously accomplished (twice). Beyond that, it was Schwarber's seventh lead-off home run of the season, and it traveled 434 feet at 112.1 mph off the bat.

Schwarber tied Padres star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. for the National League lead in home runs this season with 25.
